“The only way to get help was to overdose,” said a woman who was admitted to Tallaght hospital while suffering from depression.
Deirdre Poynton, from Tallaght village, fell into a “deep” depression when she lost her sister to lung cancer in 2016, and loneliness during the Covid-19 pandemic “finished her completely.”
