Campaign about ‘bringing democracy home to South-West’

Independent councillor for Firhouse/ Bohernabreena Alan Edge will run for the next General Election as a representative of Dublin South-West constituency.

“As an Independent with a proven track record of working with people across the political spectrum for the betterment of our area, I will have leverage to effect the real, positive changes we need when it comes to forming the next government and leading the country to a better place,” he said at his campaign launch on Sunday, September 15.

Edge is a former barrister and worked on campaigns such as Marriage Equality and Repeal.

He claims being a “proud” resident of Dublin South-West and Firhouse/Bohernabreena especially, and his campaign will be focused on empowering local communities.

“There’s a growing distance between decision-makers and the people impacted by those decisions,” he added.

“I believe decisions about Dublin South-West are best made by Dublin South-West and those who live here.

“My campaign is about bringing democracy home.”
