Carer banned from driving for two years

A CARER (50) who had no insurance has been banned from the road for two years by Blanchardstown District Court.
Jacqueline Moore was also fined €100 by Judge David McHugh.

Moore, aged 50, with an address at Rossfield Park, Brookfield Estate, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to having no insurance and no driving licence at St Cuthbert’s Road, Bawnogue, Clondalkin, on December 20, 2018.
Garda Ross Coyne told Judge McHugh that he stopped Moore on St Cuthbert’s Road on the above date.
He said Moore later failed to produce her insurance certificate and driving licence.
Garda Coyne said Moore had a previous conviction for drunken driving from October 19, 2018, for which she had received a six-month driving ban.
Moore’s counsel, Ciaran MacLoughlin Bl, asked Judge McHugh not to impose a driving ban. He said Moore works as a carer and works in the Dublin mountains. Mr MacLoughlin said that on the date in question Moore had responded to a call and took a chance driving.
He added: “ I do appreciate that I’m on a sticky wicket”.
Judge McHugh fined Moore €100 and disqualified her from driving for two years.
