A FUNDRAISING casino night is hitting the tables of Postal Aylesbury FC this Saturday, November 12.

The fun night is being held in aid of club member and Tallaght mother-of-two Wendy Johnston, who, diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis, is trying to raise money for life-changing treatment in Mexico.

The Postal club, which stages an annual casino night, has this year decided to host the event in aid of Wendy, who has been a long-time member of the local club.

According to Laura Ratcliffe, who is part of the club’s fundraising team: “Wendy Johnston has been a part of our club for many years and we feel very proud to be helping Wendy in raising the money to travel to Mexico to get the treatment she needs to halt the progression of her multiple sclerosis.

“As a community-based club we rely heavily on our members to make our fundraisers successful.

“This means we don’t just ask you to buy a ticket. We ask that you buy a ticket and come along on the night. We need you there to create atmosphere. We need you to support your club and also support our cause and remember that any one of us could at some stage need the help that we are giving to Wendy.”

An events company will be drafted into the Kiltipper Road-based club on Saturday to create the ultimate casino experience, which will also include a champagne reception.

Tickets for the night, which also boasts a selection of top prizes, are currently on sale from all team managers for €25, or can be bought at the door on the night – with the ticket price including $10,000 in chips for the casino tables.

The event rolls off at 8pm and for further details on Wendy’s journey visit the Wendy’s Hope to Halt MS Facebook page.
