Childcare facility plans for bottom floor of house in Lucan

PLANS to convert the bottom floor of a house in Lucan into a childcare facility have been lodged with South Dublin County Council, reports Hayden Moore.

The applicant, Mridul Sharma, has proposed the partial change of use of the ground floor of the existing dwelling at 4 Griffeen Glen Drive, Griffeen Glen, Lucan, to a childcare facility.

It is proposed that a ground floor extension would form part of the childcare facility with a new side entrance and rear extension to existing ground floor measuring 12m2.

A “minor demolition” is also proposed in order to accommodate the new rear extension as proposed.

Internal alterations to the existing house are also proposed to include an accessible WC.

The Local Planning Authority received this planning application on August 13, and with the closing date for submissions closed, a decision is due on October 7, 2021.

The address in which the proposed development relates to, 4 Griffeen Glen Drive, sold at €320,000 by private treaty on November 6 after being brought to market by agent, Auctioneera.

A three bedroom, three bathroom semi-detached house, the property was listed as being “fully renovated” and space that “provides a blank canvas for a new owner”.

Listed among the features at the time was a new kitchen, condensed boiler, flooring and carpets, blinds and a fresh coat of paint with an “extensive renovation of bathrooms”.

On MyHome.ie, the property is listed with having a bathroom downstairs and upstairs, with an en suite off the master bedroom.

According to the Auctioneera website, the house was constructed around 1997, and has onsite parking space available for two cars.
