Citywest firm named as one of the best places to be employed

A GLOBAL bio-pharma group based in Citywest, have been named as one of the best places to be employed in Ireland.
AbbVie Ireland are listed third in the ‘Best Large Workplace in Ireland’ category at the recent Great Place to Work Awards in Doubletree by Hilton in Dublin.
It is the third successive year the company have made it onto the final list, improving their position by nine places from the previous year.
The research-based biopharmaceutical firm also won the ‘Employee Development Award’- reflecting its efforts to promote employee development.
Adjudicators praised the creation of innovative programmes that enable employees to take ownership of their career and their development. AbbVie Ireland have a commercial headquarters in Citywest, and employ more than 500 people at five manufacturing and commercial sites across Ireland.
Colleagues located at the company’s commercial office in Citywest, entered the competition in a combined entry with AbbVie’s Cork and Sligo employees.
Caroline McClafferty, AbbVie HR Director said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be ranked third among the top 23 large companies in our third year of entry, and to receive special recognition award for employee development.
She continued: “This award has externally validated AbbVie’s focus on employee development with the introduction of our unique company talent philosophy. It’s a process that ensures transparent feedback on performance, identifies employee development and growth opportunities, all of which is directly linked to our AbbVie culture.”
