Civic Market success leads to call for more

ORGANISERS say the success of the first Ballyfermot Civic Market has led to demand for another outdoor market.

Impact Events project manager, Kate Higgins-Jackson, was delighted with the success of the recent launch.

“Everybody had a great day, and this is just the beginning of the Ballyfermot Civic Market and our community projects,” said Kate.

“The market received positive feedback, with people delighted to see the initiative in the area and requesting to know when the next one will be. Traders queued from early in the morning to set up their pitch.”

Kate continued: “Even RTÉ’s Paddy O’Gorman stopped by for a rummage and a chat. The banter was had, faces were painted, the music played and ice-creams were licked and the shades came out as all was blessed with the best day of the year, the sun splitting the sky.”
