Clondalkin mother wins ‘Curvy’ contest

TRIBUTES have been paid for a single mother from Clondalkin, who has won a UK competition to become the face and body of global lingerie brand Curvy Kate.

Seana Sweeney (31), was the only Irish contestant in the Star in a Bra competition, and after making it into a list of the top 10, she received confirmation of her win on Friday.

The mother-of-one was in complete shock when she found out she won with a record-breaking 9,000 votes online.

The receptionist didn’t expect the win “against all the gorgeous English girls”, but thinks that fact she was the only Irish contestant gave her an edge with online voters.

She wasn’t always confident with her body as a young teen, developing quicker than her peers, but the birth of her son Drew changed her mindset, and paved the way for her striking victory.

Prior to the announcement on Friday, Seana said: “Anyone who knows me, knows how much I hate to hear anyone criticise their bodies, and it’s so important to me to encourage body positivity at every opportunity. To work with a brand that does that every day would mean the world to me.”

Seana will help spread a positive body image to young women and will model Curvy Kate’s new campaign in October in London.

Along with the all-expenses-paid trip to the UK the delighted mum has won a year-long contract with Bridge models and a year’s supply of Curvy Kate Lingerie.
