A WOMAN who had eight forged NCT certificates for cars for sale on done deal has received the Probation Act in Tallaght Court.

Judge David McHugh heard that the eight cars related to the eight NCT certs held by Rebecca Crowe were later destroyed as they were not roadworthy.

Tallaght Court June 2016

Rebecca Crowe , aged 24, with an address at Moorefield Avenue, Clondalkin, had pleaded guilty to eight charges of possessing false instruments: eight forged NCT certificates for eight cars at her home address on February 25, 2016.

Garda George Thurlow told the court that the charges were related to the selling of vehicles on done deal with forged NCT certificates. He said that a search was carried out of Crowe’s premises on February 25, 2016, and eight forged NCT certificates were found.

He said that Crowe had admitted having the forged NCT certificates.

Garda Thurlow said the related vehicles were seized and they were later all destroyed as they were not roadworthy.

Garda Thurlow said it was his opinion that Crowe had been taken in by a third party who got her involved in the business.

In relation to the illegality, Garda Thurlow said Crowe “had been half-aware”.

Judge McHugh said he was willing to apply the Probation Act on the basis that Crowe had no previous convictions.

He noted that the Probation Services had said that she was at a low risk of reoffending.
