Council received 24 reports of violence and intimidation

SOUTH Dublin County Council received 24 reports of violence, intimidation and harassment in respect of council-tenanted households in Tallaght in the first three months of this year.

The local authority released their quarterly anti-social statistics for council-tenanted households in Tallaght , covering the period from January 1 to March 19 this year.

They received seven reports of drugs activity, 11 noise and disturbance reports, eight reports of squatters and illegal occupiers, eight reports of criminal activity, five vandalism reports, and 15 reports related to the condition of council tenants’ gardens.

In terms of action, the council’s Allocations Support Unit Staff, which is tasked with dealing with anti-social behaviour, held 368 formal interviews with tenants and they carried out 40 house calls and inspections.

The unit obtained 14 surrenders, including Termination of Tenancy under Section 15, and issued 34 warnings.

During the first quarter of this year, the council issued no demands for possession under Section 15 and 17, and they served no abandonment notices.
