Council worker Ger retires after 51 years
THOMAS Davis GAA club carpark had the look of a mini-makeshift council depot on Monday morning, as workers attended a breakfast to celebrate the retirement of public realm stalwart Ger Devine.
Ger (68) was a council worker for 51 years, helping to keep streets, roads, lanes, parks, open spaces, and anywhere else, clean and safe during that time.
