PLANS for the further development of IT Tallaght have been met with a request for additional information, delaying the potential construction of two new buildings for the college.

A request for additional information on the planning application was given by South Dublin County Council on May 19 – IT Tallaght has six months from this date to submit the additional information.

The additional information requested relates to the water supply and drainage on the site, surface water, landscape design, car parking and access, the setback from the River Poddle and bats which may be present on the site.

As a result of the request, IT Tallaght has been asked to submit additional information including revised drawings with details on the water main and draining.

It also requested that the River Poddle, which runs along the northern boundary of the campus, be incorporated into the plans for the development through the submission of a revised layout plan.

This layout plan is also requested to include a detailed car parking management scheme, with proposals to address the loss of the footpath adjacent to the River Poddle also requested.

A detailed survey on the bats located within the site is also requested, to establish any presence of the protected species.
