Couple accused of not sending daughter to school intend to fight their case

A HUSBAND and his wife accused of not sending their daughter to secondary school intend to fight their case, Tallaght Court has heard.

The couple, who have an address in Rathfarnham,are accused of failing to comply with a school attendance notice dated December 3, 2014 ensuring their daughters attendance at a secondary school in Tallaght from September 11, 2015.

The couple were represented by their solicitor, Kevin Tunney.

The Solicitor for TUSLA, who are prosecuting the case, told Judge William Hamill that the case was in for a plea or a date for hearing.

Mr Tunney said his clients were pleading not guilty. The solicitor for TUSLA said there would be two prosecution witnesses. Mr Tunney said he would have three witnesses.

Judge Hamill adjourned the case to a date at the end of February for hearing.
