The €500 grant was presented to Jennifer Rafter, Administrator at Rainbows Ireland, by Margaret Boxwell, from Aldi’s Long Mile Road store.

Each of Aldi’s 126 Irish stores has been allocated an individual annual bursary fund to co-ordinate the programme at a local level.

Finbar McCarthy, Group Buying Director, Aldi Ireland, said: “We are delighted our Long Mile Road store employees have chosen to support Rainbows Ireland, as they play a pivotal role in helping children and young people affected by bereavement, separation or divorce.

“Supporting the local communities our stores serve is something that we truly believe in and we are proud to be contributing to the important work done by charities and not-for–profit organisations.”
