Curves Knocklyon waives joining fee in support of Breast Cancer Ireland for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
KNOCKLYON, DUBLIN – 20 October 2026: Curves Knocklyon is proudly supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, inviting local women to take a positive step towards their own health and fitness while helping to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.
Throughout October, the women-only fitness club at Woodstown Village Shopping Centre, off Ballycullen Road, is waiving its usual joining fee in exchange for a €25 donation to Breast Cancer Ireland.
The first month’s membership fee is payable separately.
The initiative runs until 31 October 2026.
Curves Knocklyon, which first opened in 2005, has been a familiar part of the local community for more than two decades.
Owner Liza Sales has run the club for 12 years and brings 26 years of experience in the fitness industry to her work helping women feel stronger, healthier and more confident.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month means a lot to us here at Curves Knocklyon,” said Liza. “We all know someone who has been touched by breast cancer, and this is our chance to come together and support such an important cause.
‘At Curves, we’ve always been about women supporting women, both inside and outside the gym.”
As part of the month’s activities, members and staff will take part in a 6km charity walk on Saturday, 24 October at 1pm, setting off from Curves Knocklyon towards Dodder Valley Park.

The walk is a club event for members and staff, rather than a public fundraising walk. Anyone who wishes to support the fundraising can contact the club directly to make a donation.
Curves Knocklyon offers a 30-minute full-body workout combining strength training, cardio and stretching, with a coach available to guide and encourage members.
The club also offers bootcamps and classes focused on areas such as core, balance, stretching and toning, alongside Curves Smart personalised training and regular fitness consultations.
“For me, Curves is so much more than a gym,” Liza added. “It’s a lovely community where women can come in, have a chat, enjoy their workout and leave feeling better about themselves.
‘Whether you’re completely new to exercise or getting back into it after a break, you’ll always be made welcome.
‘Life is busy, and sometimes taking just 30 minutes for yourself can make all the difference.”
Liza hopes the October initiative will encourage more local women to discover the club and its friendly, supportive atmosphere while contributing to Breast Cancer Ireland.
“I’m so proud of our members and staff for getting behind this every year.
‘It’s wonderful to see women encouraging one another, and we’d love to welcome more women into our Curves community.”
