Customers left terrified after attempted armed robbery in Crumlin

Gardaí are investigating a robbery that occurred at McDonalds in the Ashleaf Shopping Centre in Crumlin this afternoon (Tuesday 6th December).

The frightening raid happened at approximately 4.30pm, with customers said to have been terrified during the ordeal, including young children.

Speaking on the Niall Boylan Show on Classic Hits 4Fm, one eyewitness said some people were hiding under tables, while a number of elderly people were left in shock.

The attempted robbery began when two men entered the premises believed to be in possession of firearms.

They threatened staff and then left the scene empty handed.

No injuries were reported. Both raiders had their faces covered, and no better descriptions are available at present.

The scene was preserved and technically examined. No arrests have been made and ivestigations are on-going.
