Daly appointed St Pat’s manager
ST PATRICK’S Athletic have announced this evening the appointment of Jon Daly as First Team Manager, following a comprehensive recruitment and interview process with a number of candidates.
Daly, from Clondalkin, has been in charge in an interim capacity for the last four matches, taking nine points from a possible 12, winning the games against Cork City (3-2), Drogheda United (3-0) and Shelbourne (1-0).
His only defeat in that run came against Shamrock Rovers (3-2) last Monday.
The Saints are 4th in the League of Ireland Premier Division table, with 26 points from their 17 games so far.
The Inchicore side sit three points behind third placed Bohemians and eight points off top spot, which is currently occupied by Derry City.
Daly’s first game as Manager will be at home to Dundalk FC this Friday.
Daly is delighted to be the new St Patrick’s Athletic Manager: “I’m very happy to be the Manager of this fantastic club and am looking forward to the challenge.
“I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity and will be doing my best for everyone involved in St Pat’s.
“We’ve been happy with our performances over the last four games and have picked up three important wins.
“The attitude of the players has been excellent and we’ll be looking to keep that going, starting on Friday against Dundalk in front of another big crowd at Richmond Park.
“Our supporters have been fantastic, as they showed again at Tolka Park on Friday, it makes a huge difference to the players on the pitch and we are looking forward to being back at home in Inchicore on Friday.”
