Darkness Into Light comes to Corkagh Park for first time

For the first time ever, Darkness Into Light 2022, proudly supported by Electric Ireland, will take place in Corkagh Park.

1,000 people can register to attend Clondalkin’s first ever local Darkness Into Light walk which will take place at sunrise on the morning of Saturday May 7th.

“Thanks to a team of local volunteers, Corkagh Park, for the first time ever, will be a venue for the flagship Pieta fundraiser,” said Lorraine Murphy, Chair of Darkness Into Light, Corkagh Park.

“Each year Darkness Into Light provides an opportunity for people to connect with their local community and to bring hope to people who have been impacted by suicide. We are hoping that the local community will get behind us and make Clondalkin’s first official Darkness Into Light a success for Pieta.

“We had a great response from shoppers in The Mill Shopping Centre last weekend who were thrilled they could do the walk right here in Clondalkin, and we will be there again this weekend.

“You can register online at darknessintolight.ie and can choose your local park, Corkagh Park, as your venue this year.

“After two years of not being able to host in-person walks, this year’s events will be particularly special,” concluded Lorraine.

Clondalkin will be one of many locations that will provide an opportunity to raise awareness and hope in the global fight against suicide and self-harm.

Since Darkness Into Light began, Pieta supporters have helped raise almost €29 million, which has enabled the charity to keep their doors and 24/7 helpline open for people in crisis, free of charge.
