Difficult decision for Irish Blue Cross to suspend mobile clinic

By Maurice Garvey

THE Irish Blue Cross made the “difficult decision” on Sunday to suspend their mobile clinic service for the next two weeks, citing the “health and wellbeing of clients, volunteers and staff.”

However, the service confirmed their main clinic at Inchicore remains operational by appointment only.

The Irish Blue Cross main clinic in Inchicore will remain open

Anyone attending an appointment in Inchicore is asked to adhere to a number of steps.

This includes only pet owners to attend with their pet, to phone in your pet’s prescriptions ahead of appointment to save time waiting, and contactless payments for prescriptions.

Head of Veterinary Services, Úna O’Toole said they are also asking clients to follow all HSE guidelines including observing social distancing and hygiene protocols.

“We also ask that clients wait in their cars while we examine their pet where possible,” she said.

“Clients can phone in medication orders in advance and pay by card where possible. We are asking clients who feel ill or are showing symptoms of coronavirus not to attend clinics to prevent spreading the virus to other clients and our staff.”

People are advised to contact the main clinic on 416 3030 for advice about their pet.
