Step 1: Wash

Wash Hands thoroughly

with soap and water then towel dry.

Step 2: Prep

Clean the natural nail with a nail polish remover. This will remove any existing polish and also remove any natural oils from the nail plate.

Step 3: Clip, File and Buff

Clip your nails first if necessary then file gently with a glass file or a 240grit emery board moving in one direction only to prevent splitting of the natural nail.

Hold the file flush to your natural nail and tilt it so you file slightly underneath. This will prevent over filing and splitting.

Then use a nail buffer over the free edge and the surface of your nail to smooth out and bring to a high shine.

Step 4: Cuticles

Prep the cuticles first with a cuticle remover cream or gel. This will dissolve any dead skin and soft tissue of the cuticle area.

Leave for a minute then very gently push back with a cuticle stick.

Your cuticles protect your nails from bacteria so prevent pushing back too much as this can cause excess skin to be cut away. Only dead skin cells need to be removed which can normally be done without cutting.

Step 5: Exfoliation

Exfoliate you’re hands, wrists and forearms with a scrub that eliminates dead skin cells.

Rinse thoroughly then clean any debris away from the cuticle area and free edge of the nail with your wooden stick.

Step 6: Moisturise hands and cuticles

Final step is to moisturise your hands and cuticles.

Take a few minutes to gently massage the cream into your hands, forearms and wrists then apply a tiny drop of cuticle oil to each nail then massage into the nail plate.
