DSPCA already receiving unwanted Christmas presents

The DSPCA have already received dogs, given by people as Christmas presents, but now not wanted, including an adorable puppy called Holly.

In the run up to Christmas the DSPCA urged those planning to buy a dog to adopt instead, with hundreds of people sending pictures of their adopted pets in the hope others would listen.

Sadly, many people took no notice, and the day before Christmas Eve the charity received their first unwanted Christmas present, which, according to the DSPCA, was bought online and then collected from a puppy farm.

Then, this morning an adorable little puppy named Holly was handed in by a person who said they could not look after the dog that had been bought as a present.

The advice from the DSPCA, as always, is to adopt a dog rather than buy one. A full list of guidelines and how to adopt from the DSPCA can be found HERE
