Dublin Lions U18s do the double by winning league title

DUBLIN Lions U18s were celebrating a league and cup double this week.

The Clondalkin side secured their second trophy when they won the Division One league crown.

It has been a great season all round for this outfit who also came second in the National Cup in January after losing out by two points to Phoenix Rockets of Belfast.

Lions secured the league crown with almost three weeks left in the season and two games left to play.

Last season the side shared first place with Ongar Chasers U17s but there was no stopping Lions this year from claiming the title.

In the Dublin Cup, Lions had a tough group to come out of, but they went on to win the title when they beat St Vincent’s by eight points in the decider.

Harry Scully was one of the key players for Dublin Lions this year, averaging 36 points per game.

Rokas Liucvaikas was another player that stood out for Lions while Michael O’Connor is one of the best ball defenders at his age level.

The side is coached by Rob White and John Lambert and managed by Patsy Kelleher.
