DUBLIN: Man to appear in court in relation to serious sexual assault on Monday
A man in his 30s is due before Dublin District Court this morning in relation to a serious sexual assault in Dublin on Monday.
The attack took place at a laneway at Parnell Place in Dublin 1 in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gardai responded to a call in relation to a disturbance in the area at 3am and the man was arrested when they arrived.
The victim of the attack was taken to the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the Rotunda Hospital.
In a statement this morning, a Garda spokesperson said: “A man in his 30s is due to appear at Dublin District Court No1 Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am on 12th October 2017 charged in relation to a serious sexual assault on Parnell Place in Dublin 1.
“The man was arrested following an incident on the 9th October 2017 and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Store Street Garda Station.”
