€1.2m worth of Cannabis Resin is seized in Tallaght and Brittas

UPDATE: The two men arrested in relation to this incident have since been charged. They are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10:30am this morning, April 2.

Two males have been arrested after Cannabis Resin with an estimated street sale value of €1.2 million was seized in Brittas and Tallaght, today, Friday April 1.

As part of an ongoing investigation the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau intercepted two vehicles in Brittas and searched a business in Tallaght. During the operation 210 kilos of Cannabis Resin was seized.

A garda spokesperson said: “As part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious organised criminal activity, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), intercepted two vehicles in the Brittas area of Co. Dublin and searched a business premises in the Tallaght area of South Dublin today, Friday 1st April 2022.

“In the course of the operation, 210 kilogrammes of Cannabis Resin with an estimated street sale value of €1.2 million was seized.

“Two males, aged in their 40s and 20s have been arrested and are currently detained pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Tallaght Garda Station.”
