Try one challenge in new free community-based programme…

Looking to try a new activity?

South Dublin County Council has started a new community-based programme that encourages people over the age of 18 to challenge themselves to a new activity…for free!

Based across local community centres until July, the free classes include dance, zumba, aerobic fitness, circuit training, aqua aerobics, swimming, walking and running.

Called Try One Challenge, the initiative is being supported by the South Dublin County Sports Partnership (SDCSP) and Healthy South Dublin.

Speaking with The Echo, Thos McDermott, SDCSP co-ordinator, said: “We’re coming into the summertime now and people are getting out and about and may want to try something new.

“There’s no cost involved, so if you try something and you like it, great.

“If you don’t, you may find something else you like.

“Try One Challenge is not only about physical fitness but it’s also social.

“The social aspect is probably more important.

“It also introduces people to their local community centre and may link them in with other clubs and activities.”

Thos has encouraged everyone over the age of 18 to check out the schedule of activities.

To book a free activity call community centre number provided. Places are limited.
