eBeauty – Summer Pout
Welcome back to this week’s eBeauty Blog, I hope everyone is enjoying the sun, I know I am! The weather lately has really inspired me to change up my makeup bag and challenge myself to use some more colour this summer. Which leads me to introduce this week’s focus, ‘Summer Lips’. It can be difficult to add colour to your look especially midweek because who really has time for that? Incorporating colour through lipsticks/glosses etc is a fun and easy way to take a boring makeup look from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds.
I love a nude lip, it is definitely my go to everyday lip. From a brown nude to a pink nude I find it really hard to detach myself from my beloved Mac Honey Love. And for some people who may be a little apprehensive about colour and who are bit more “Plain Jane” it can be difficult. Peachy nudes are 100% the way to go. They are the perfect medium between not too much colour but still bringing a touch of colour and life to the face. My favourite peachy nude is Urban Decay’s Insanity Cream lipstick.
Pop of Pink
This is a colour that I would have always stayed away from, pink can be scary…even for me. I have been trying a hot pink shade the last few weeks and I must say I am loving it! It is particularly gorgeous with sun kissed bronzy skin. If ever you need inspo on how to incorporate pinks into a look, the Kardashian sisters have mastered this. My favourite Bright Pink shade is Sleek’s Guestlist lipstick.
I am a big fan of a red lip. I think it is really classy and sassy. However, I usually tend to go for more deeper toned reds. Hot reds are a great way to change up your summer makeup bag. Perfect for Friday evening after work drinks, to change your look from boring Monday to Friday night ready! If you’re feeling really adventurous you can even add a layer of the same colour gloss to really intensify that bold lip. With this lip, you can guarantee all eyes will be on you. My favourite Hot Red Gloss is CYO Deviate Gloss.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s eBeauty Blog and learned that bright colours aren’t always as scary as they seem. I’d love to see your ‘Summer Lip’ selfies, make sure to tag me @sophieskmakeup in any of your recreations.
