eBeauty: What is trending in make up

Áine Pollock has recently graduated from IADT Design for Stage and Screen majoring in makeup. Working in retail for Christian Dior over the past year has expanded her knowledge of contemporary beauty merchandise and given her a passion to seek out the latest trends. working as a makeup artist on movie sets had enabled Áines expertise to reach beyond beauty makeup and gain versatility in prosthetics and model-making. Makeup doesn’t seem to be high on our list of priorities when it comes to beauty products these days. Lockdown has shifted our beauty focus to things like, haircare, skincare and even nailcare.

Makeup trends and new product launches have not stopped but - with retail remaining closed - it is easy to miss out on what’s happening and new in the makeup world.

The overall idea for what is “in” is natural soft glowing makeup looks which is something I think most of us are happy to hear.

Trending a few weeks ago on Tik Tok was the comparison of 2016 makeup trends vs. 2021 and let’s just say that it probably isn’t a bad thing that we’ve outgrown our matte lipsticks, super full coverage foundations and overdrawn structured eyebrows.
