Echo Fundraiser: Pedal power for Christmas

THE ECHO will host their first annual Christmas fundraising event on Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1.

Their chosen charity partners for 2017 are Tallaght Cancer Support Group (TCSG) and Suzanne House, with all proceeds being divided between the two local charities.

Echo staff will take part in a (static bike) cycle challenge over the two-day event which will take  place in The Square Town Centre on November 30 and in the Tallaght Cancer Support Group office on Main Street  Tallaght on December 1.

The Echo are hoping to raise a target of €5,000 through bucket-shaking on the days of the event and their GoFundMe page  https://goo.gl/TMN4X7.

Managing Director of The Echo, Emma Kennedy, said; “We have always donated to charity at Christmas time, but this year we wanted to embark on a bigger fundraiser that we could turn into an annual event supporting local charities that give so much to the community, who are also our Echo readers.

“This year [our first year] we chose charities that are also our neighbours, and after seeing first-hand the amazing work both TCSG and Suzanne House do, it was an easy decision to make.

“We want all the community of Echo readers to get behind us and either donate through the GoFundMe page, or even better come and see us on November 30 in The Square or December 1 at TCSG on Main Street Tallaght, for fun and to meet your local reporters”.
