PLENTY OF memories were made at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin with Team Ireland returning a haul of 75 medals through 73 athletes, with a strong Palmerstown Wildcats contingent helping Ireland Women’s Basketball five-a-side team win gold.

Lucan United Football Club senior mens’ team secured the Metropolitan Cup for the first time in their club’s history with a huge final win over Bluebell United, being named The Echo Team of the Month for June.

Having already won the All-Ireland Cup and Under DDSL Premier Division, Shamrock Rovers Under 12s completed the treble by beating St Joseph’s 3-0 in the DDSL Tom Kavanagh Cup Final.
