DONORE Harriers legend Ann Woodlock (84) became a world champion for the second time when she won the W80 3,000m race at the World Indoor Masters Championships, with the Drimnagh woman being named The Echo Sports Star of the Month for March as a result.

Dublin Minor Camogie team, who had a strong local contingent with Good Counsel’s Ashling Kennedy and nine members of the backroom team, were beaten by Kilkenny in the Leinster Championship Final.

Greenhills Boxing Club had its first county champion since its re-establishment, with James Hayden boxing his way to gold at the Dublin Championships.

Templeogue Basketball Club enjoyed a good turn at the Dublin Ladies Basketball Board Cup Finals with the Under 14s winning their second successive title and the Under 16s also getting the job done.

In the men’s equivalent, Templeogue were successful the DMBB Finals with the Under 17s, Under 18s, Under 20s and Men’s Division One team all triumphant.

In motorsport, defending Irish rallycross champion Derek Tohill took his maiden win of the new season at Mondello Park while Bohernabreena man Anthony Cross got off to winning ways in the Formula Vee National Championship.

More than three decades after hurling ceased in Robert Emmets GAA Club, the small ball game returned to Greentrees Park when their new Under 9s team played Ballyboden Wanderers.

Glenanne’s second women’s team secured the league title after a run of 14 wins and two draws.

Meanwhile, Terenure College RFC starlets Fintan Gunne and Henry McErlean shone as the Ireland Under 20s made it back-to-back Six Nations Grand Slam Championships with victory over England.
