Enterprise Week aims to increase awareness of support and services

LOCAL ENTERPRISE Week runs from March 5 to March 11 and there are a number of inspiring events around the county.
The focus of Local Enterprise Week is to increase awareness of the range of Local Enterprise Offices supports and services available to micro and small enterprises.
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Ms. Mary Mitchell O’ Connor T.D. has welcomed plans by the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) to host more than 380 inspiring events around the country for an estimated 14,500 start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners during Local Enterprise Week 2017.
LEO South Dublin will be celebrating Local Enterprise Week with a range of events for start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses in their area.
Entrepreneurs of all ages will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, advice clinics and one-to-one mentoring in areas such as: Exporting, Sourcing Finance, Digital Marketing, Greening Your Business, Tax and Small Business Accounting and Communication Skills.
Some of the highlights of Local Enterprise Week in South Dublin include:
Sourcing Funding for Your Business on Monday March 6 from 2.30-4.40pm featuring a range of speakers from financial institutions, crowd funding and one of our own successful entrepreneurs, Dave McGeady from Wyldssons, to share his advice.
Becoming a Green and Lean Business and How it can Save You Money on Tuesday, March 7, in the Red Cow Moran Hotel from 10.30am to 4.30pm
The International Women’s Day Celebration in the Davenport Hotel from 5.30-9pm on Wednesday March 8. The Happy Pear duo, Dave and Steve, will deliver the Key Note address in County Hall in Tallaght on Thursday, March 9 from 7 to 9pm and where the South Dublin finalist for the upcoming National Enterprise Awards will be announced.
A Workshop on How to Engage and Excite a Business Audience by finding your Authentic Voice and Core Story with communications expert Padraig Hyland from 10am to 4pm in Finnstown Castle Hotel on Friday March 10.
Local Enterprise Week officially kicks-off on Sunday, March 5th with the national final of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition in Google Headquarters in Dublin.
IBYE, which is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices and supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Enterprise Ireland, achieved an unprecedented number of entries across all 31 LEOs with more than 1,800 young people competing for the €2 million IBYE investment fund.
