The first aid is given until appropriate professional support is received or until the crises resolves.

Donal Scanlon, Project Manager with Mental Health First Aid Ireland said: “This is so exciting, a great opportunity to bring mental health first aid skills to a community setting, engaging people in becoming a more caring and supportive community.”

Bernie Laverty Family Matters Project Manager, said: “We are extremely happy to welcome MHFA to Ballyfermot to run these courses.

“Increasing mental health awareness, increasing knowledge and skilling up parents and practitioners in the community is a key aim of Family Matters. We would also like to thank the HSE for funding this initiative.”

Courses take place in Ballyfermot on the following dates – March 24/25, May 22/23, July 13/14, Aug 31, September 1, and October 24/25.
