Extension plans for Ballyroan school is granted permission

FIRST-FLOOR extension plans for new staff facilities and resource rooms at Ballyroan Boys National School have been granted permission by South Dublin County Council.

Chairperson with the school’s board of management, Ciaran Ahern, lodged the planning application with the planning authority on April 12, 2022.

Plans are for a first-floor extension on the existing flat roofs between the GP room and classroom Block on the north/east side, over the shelter on the south side and over the utility areas on the west side.

Set to accommodate a new staff room, toilets and four resource rooms, the extension will link the main classroom block on the east side to the classes on the west side of the school’s campus.

On June 7, council planners signed off on the proposals subject to the applicant meeting seven standard conditions.

A construction traffic management plan, including details of wheel washing, site worker parking, dust suppression and more, is required to be submitted.

A construction and demolition waste management plan along with a drawing confirming proposed Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) need to be lodged with the authority.
