FORMER Round Towers camogie player Lisa Fallon has seen her career in soccer take another major step forward with her appointment as manager of Women’s Super League 2 outfit London City Lionesses.

A Dublin Senior B Camogie Championship winner with Towers, Fallon has since carved out an impressive soccer career that has included posts among the backroom teams for Northern Ireland and Cork City before joining Chelsea as the Womens team’s Game Analyst & Strategy Coach.

Even the Dublin Senior football team called upon the services of the UEFA Pro Licence holder.

Supported by Assistant Coach Melissa Phillips, Fallon is relishing the new challenge with the Lionesses who were sitting fourth in Super League 2 before it was scrapped as a result of the COVID-19 threat.

“This is a seminal moment in my career and an extremely proud day for me and everyone who has helped me through my career to-date” Fallon told the club website.

“I would like to thank Diane and the Board for giving me this opportunity. I was drawn to the ambition of the club and Board – together I am sure that we will take this club forward.

“The squad is exciting with lots of potential and we are all looking forward to getting back out on the grass and back to training.

“Finally, and most importantly, I would like to talk directly to the supporters – we’ll be a hard-working, attacking team that will continue to make you proud” she added.
