ST JUDE’S Under 14 foot-ballers secured the Divis- ion Five Féile title after they overcame Whitehall Colmcille’s 3-6 to 1-5 in Parnell Park on Sunday.

The Templeogue side put together a strong perform-ance as they edged out a strong Colmcille’s side to whom they had lost in the group stages.

Alex Raferty was superb for the winners as he helped himself to three goals and two points, stunning the winners with his superb display.

Indeed Raferty registered all of his scores in the opening period as Jude’s established a 3-2 to 0-2 half time lead.

Whitehall came back in the second half with a goal and three points but St Jude’s held firm with Aaran Glass in the half back line along with midfielders Nathan Fields and Ross Mulligan working hard.

Keeper Adam Danaher pulled off an important save in the second half while Alex Raferty’s brothers Mikey and Mattie put in good displays.

In the group stages, Jude’s lost to Whitehall in their first match while they went on to beat Croabh Chiarain and Round Tower. In the semi-final St Jude’s saw off St Peter’s.

This is Jude’s first Féile title in six years and the management team was delighted with the success.

“The lads have worked hard and we are delighted to win the title,” said St Jude’s Under 14 mentor Merv O’Boyle.
