A FINAL call-out for groups and clubs to take part in Tallaght’s St Patrick’s Day Parade is being made.

With just over two weeks to go until the big day, all local groups interested in celebrating their hometown and marching through Tallaght village are encouraged to touch base - with the deadline for entries being extended until this Sunday, March 8.

According to Sharon Byrne, Secretary of the voluntary Tallaght parade committee, she said: “We want this year to be our biggest yet, and we want people who have never taken part before to get in touch.

“Anyone who has taken part in the last two parades have loved it and we have many groups returning this year.”

This is the third year that the community-led parade has marched through Tallaght village, with thousands of locals lining the streets last year to celebrate and cheer on their hometown.

The Tallaght Parade 2020 will leave the grounds of TU Dublin–Tallaght campus and snake down the Blessington Road, turning left onto Main Street before taking the left onto the Greenhills Road and back onto the college campus.

The parade starts at 1.30pm and finishes at 3pm.
