FITNESS centres specifically for females provide an ideal environment for women to work out in comfort.

One such facility in Clondalkin – Reform Personal Training and Fitness – is introducing women of all ages to fitness, whilst positively influencing their lifestyle.

Based in Ace Enterprise Park, Bawnogue, the gym was established by Mary Denton in February, and sterling reviews from clients, indicate the business is pushing the right buttons.

Mary, a Bawnogue resident and mother of two young boys, founded the gym due to a lack of facilities in the area for women.

“There are so few places that offer female-only training, and many women feel uncomfortable training with men in groups or one-on-one,” said Mary.

“I also found a lot of programme designs weren’t catering for females. I believe we should train slightly different than our male counterparts. With this in mind, I completed my fitness instruction and nutrition courses in order to help women to feel strong and who like a challenge.”

Mary’s energy needs to be bottled and sold in shops, as she seamlessly caters for early morning and late-night clients, whilst looking after her family, and all with a spring in her step.

“We have classes starting at 7am for people before they go to work, it’s busy until 12 noon. I might head off to collect the kids and make them dinner, and be back again at 4pm,” said Mary.

“A lot of my clients met through the gym and are now friends outside of it, and I myself have amassed so many friends and take pleasure in helping people achieve success, and have more energy at home to play with the kids.”

However, Mary isn’t stopping there, and plans to introduce classes for teens and for mature ladies in October.

She continued: “All sessions are designed with female anatomy in mind and coached by female trainers only, meaning we focus on key areas for women.

Goal specific classes with lifestyle and nutrition advice, have had the desired effect for clients.

Reform client Triona Hooper “highly recommends these classes as we have a laugh” and “if you want to change your life style, I suggest getting in touch with Mary.”

Lynn Cunningham started in Reform Fitness about eight weeks ago and “loves every bit of it.”

“As well as fantastic work-outs, I’ve also been educated in all foods I’m eating. I’m loving this new clean-living me and I won’t be looking back,” said Lynn.

Personal training sessions are only €10, with a minimum purchase of four.

Other deals include three personal training sessions per week, and unlimited fitness classes for only €150 per month.
