A FITNESS instructor from Clondalkin is teaching outdoor classes to keep his neighbours active during Covid-19.

Aaron Connolly (26), a resident of St Michaels Collins Avenue, has been hosting classes on the road for the last seven weeks at 1pm everyday.

“People of all ages have been getting involved from six years of age to 60 and I’ve noticed a big change in their mindsets from day one,” said Aaron.

Aaron previously worked for Clondalkin Leisure Centre for four years, and then started to work for himself as a personal trainer at Newcastle gym Insanity Fitness.

He continued: “Helping people change their lives is what it’s all about, so I’m delighted to be able to do that week in week out. I will continue to help people stay active until my gym opens back up and we get back to normal.

“I was shocked to get so many messages of people showing their gratitude and I’m delighted to have helped so many people.”

Carmel Carrick, a resident on St Michael Colllins Avenue, said the classes are great for “keeping up morale”.

“It is great that he does it for us. We keep our distance on the street but some of the ladies benefitting from it are 80 and 87-years-old,” said Carmel.

The class is online every day at 1pm via my Instagram page, my name on Instagram is AarConnolly and the workouts are free for anyone to join in,” said Aaron.
