A LOCAL woman who is appearing as a leader in the current series of RTÉ’s hit health and fitness show ‘Operation Transformation’ has organised walks in Clondalkin in the coming days and weeks.

Stephanie Bowden, 31, who is from Woodford and is a coach for Crumlin United FC, has organised the walks to help boost her own fitness and the fitness of those in the community.

There will be a walk in Knockmitten Community Centre this Sunday, January 22 at 1pm while next Tuesday, January 24, there’ll be an hour-long walk at the Round Tower GAA Club starting at 7pm.

Stephanie has been holding walks in the local area for the last two weeks and has seen demand grow swiftly, and is keen to encourage the community to join her in her fitness journey.

“I feel that ‘Operation Transformation’, as much as it’s about us as individuals, it’s about the community too,” she told The Echo.

“I think it’s a good platform to encourage people to get out and get moving.”

There’s a social aspect to the walks which Stephanie enjoys, with the walkers encouraging each other and enjoying their time being active.

The mother-of-two said she’s already received positive feedback from participants, with many saying they felt great afterwards as they would’ve otherwise spent the evening on the sofa watching TV.

All are welcome to attend the walks, and people who are planning to attend the walk in Round Tower GAA Club are advised to walk as parking is limited.

Stephanie was also present at St Kevin’s/Killian’s GAA Club Lighting Up Ireland Walk in conjunction with Operation Transformation on Wednesday evening.
