Twenty students jet off for working holiday in Malaga

A GROUP of 20 students from Greenhills Community College of Further Education will be jetting off to Malaga this week to commence a working holiday programme as part of their studies.

The Erasmus+ programme is being organised by college tutors Paula Nugent, Laura Fox and Roger O’Neill.

The tutors will be accompanying students when they travel to the Spanish city this Sunday, January 22, and for the duration of their time there which ends on February 4.

“It is truly a wonderful opportunity for our students, as they will be immersed in such a rich and diverse culture,” Ms Nugent told The Echo.

“Students were selected from the many applicants from all courses throughout our college, to include childcare, social care, science, engineering, healthcare and nursing, business and medical secretarial courses.

“All students have been assigned work experience in Malaga to link in with the courses they are studying, and this will be very beneficial to their professional and personal growth and development.

“As part of this programme flights, accommodation and spending money are provided to all students, along with excursions and tours in the evenings and weekends.”

The Erasmus+ programme was open to all full-time QQI Level 5 and Level 6 students in the college to apply for, before 20 were ultimately selected.

The selected students will complete 10 days’ work experience in their vocational area during the programme.
