It was organised by a committee of Councillor Emer Higgins, Neville Graver, Christy McDonnell, Mary Maguire, Tricia O’Halloran and Anne O’Riordan.

Cllr Higgins said: “It was a huge success and raised much-needed funds for the 4 Districts Day Care Centre. One super-Dubs fan went home the proud owner of a signed Dublin jersey.

“For the fourth year running we had huge support from our local community Garda Frank Howe, and Dublin Civil Defence and their firefighters. Cllr Dermot Richardson of Tallaght Adventure World donated a bouncy castle and local butchers MK Meat supplied the meat for our BBQ, which Joe and his team worked all day long.

She continued: “Thanks to Diamond Marquees and all the local businesses who supported the raffle and took out stalls. We were truly blessed with the weather and it was great to see so many families out enjoying the day.

“The villages of Rathcoole, Saggart, Newcastle and Brittas have tremendous community spirit and it’s great that South Dublin County Council was able to provide grant aid.”
