Tallaght estates set for speed ramp repairs this month

WORKS to repair traffic-calming ramps across Tallaght are set to continue, with a number of estates seeing upgrades this month.

An update on the “urgent” remedial works for ramps throughout Tallaght was requested by Labour councillor Mick Duff with a particular focus on the estates of Tymon, Balrothery, Glenview and Kilnamanagh.

In response to Cllr Duff’s request, South Dublin County Council confirmed that a contractor was recently chosen to carry out the necessary works.

Works being carried out this month across Tallaght included repairs in Cois na hAbhainn, Dún an Óir, Watermeadow Park, Parkwood (Kilnamanagh), Bancroft Estate, Kiltipper Road, Brookview, Killinarden and Cloonmore.

An update report on the progress made for a ramps programme across the county was also requested by Sinn Féin councillor Cathal King.

In response to Cllr King’s request, South Dublin County Council said: “A comprehensive list is being compiled of all requests for traffic calming throughout the county. There is no agreed programme yet.

“Proposals will shortly be presented to each area committee with a view to the members, through the area committee chair presenting a number of locations to be examined in the context of the available resources.”
