Delivered by the HSE’s National Office for Suicide Prevention, SafeTALK ‘suicide alertness for everyone’ is a half-day training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.
The training is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who is prepared to be a suicide alert helper, and includes front-line workers, community volunteers, gardai, clergy, teachers, coaches, members of the general public and people responding to family and friends.
The training, which is being held in St Kevin’s Family Resource Centre on Thursday, February 9, from 10am to 1.30pm, is free but prior registration is essential, as places are limited.
