A FUNDRAISER in aid of Tallaght mother Marina Jordan Killoran for two tickets to see Justin Bieber raised €6,800 toward her life-saving treatment, with 1,350 tickets sold throughout Tallaght to support Marina and her family as she headed off to Chicago for the stem cell treatment.

Organised by Siobhan Carroll after her daughter Ciara Ann camped out for tickets to see Justin Bieber last January, the fundraiser saw support from SBG Tallaght coach and former UFC star Paddy Holohan and UFC Champion Conor McGregor and his mother, Margaret.

Siobhan told The Echo: “I have known Alan and Marina for years. Alan since we were young teenagers and Marina because we all worked in Packard Electric all through the eighties up ton the nineties.

“Employees of Packard were extremely kind – they all turned up to the final night. David Cummins from DC Print printed the posters for us, free of charge.

“I myself was overwhelmed with the generosity of attitude, especially the young people of Tallaght. Thanks to Fran Warren of Molloy’s in Tallaght, Jack Ahern who sold the winning ticket, The Old Mill, Tallaght, and Robbie in the Kiltipper Pub in Killinarden who gave us the venue.

“Also thanks to all the support from everyone, including The Square which gave us a day on the third level. Also Cathal King and his colleagues for buying tickets, Louise Dunne, Cora McCann, Brendan Ferron and Dermot Richardson.

“All in all, it was unbelievable over the last 12 weeks. The people of Tallaght came together and the only thing that was dealt out was love, kindness and energy.

“Here is to the community of Tallaght. I have seen and know that Tallaght has a huge beating heart. Here’s to Marina, come home well and the big party will happen then.”
