Gardai appeal for witnesses after terrifying armed raid in Chapelizod

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man armed with a gun fled the scene of a robbery in Chapelizod this afternoon.

The terrifying incident happened at a premises on Chapelizod Main Street at approximately 2:30pm.

According to Gardai the man entered premises and threatened staff with what they believe to be a gun.

He then left with an unknown sum of cash.

In a statement released to Echo.ie this afternoon, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating a robbery at a premises on Main Street, Chapelizod which occurred today at approximately 2:30pm.

“A man entered the premises armed with what is believed to be a firearm, threatened staff and left with an unknown sum of cash.

“No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01-6667200.”
