Gardai appeal for witnesses after woman mugged in Tallaght estate
An investigation is underway and gardai are seeking witnesses after a woman (in her fifties) was attacked and her handbag robbed in Tallaght on Saturday night.
The incident took place on Alderwood Avenue in Springfield at approximately 9:30pm.
It is believed the woman was walking back from the shops near her home when a man, dressed all in black, approached her and tackled her to ground, before leaving the scene with her handbag.
In a statement released by gardai, a spokesperson said: “Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating a robbery from a person on the 25/02/17 at approximately 9:30pm in Alderwood Avenue, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
“The suspect is described as – male, 5′ 8″, average build and wearing a wool hat.
“No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.”
Gardai confirmed to Echo.ie that the woman was not physically injured.
