Gardai investigating robbery at supermarket

GARDAI are investigating a robbery at a supermarket in Tallaght that occurred on Wednesday morning.

It’s understood at approximately 8am, two males entered the SuperValu in Fortunestown Shopping Centre armed with knives threatening staff and got away with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes.

No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.

According to a Garda statement released: “At approximately 8am, it's reported two males entered a supermarket in Fortunestown, Tallaght, armed with knives. The men left the shop with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes after threatening staff.

“No injuries were reported and there was no damage to any property.

“The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. No arrests have been made to date”.

Investigations are ongoing.
