Gardai launch murder investigation after death of young Tallaght man
Gardaí in Tallaght have this evening launched a murder investigation following the death of a 20 year old man.
The young man was discovered on the Old Blessington Road, in Tallaght village, on Wednesday, November 1, at approximately 3am with serious head injuries.
He was brought by emergency services to Tallaght Hospital but was transferred to Beaumont Hospital – where he passed away today, November 13, as a result of his injuries.
A Post Mortem examination was carried out and the investigation has now been upgraded to murder.
According to gardai, a 20 year old man was arrested in the Tallaght area this afternoon in relation to the investigation and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
