GoFundMe page set up to support Jackie Griffin’s family

OVER €5,000 has been raised for the family of Tallaght woman Jackie Griffin, who tragically died in a road traffic collision on the M50 last week.

Tributes have been paid to the young woman, who was in her thirties and worked for courier service Nightline, after she sustained catastrophic head and body injuries in a multiple-vehicle collision involving two cars and a truck on the M50 near Finglas on Thursday morning.

Ms Griffin’s friends paid tribute to her online, with one saying that she was “always an angel” and would be “forever in our hearts”, while another described Ms Griffin as “an amazing person” adding that she’ll “never be forgotten, I hope you’re still smiling”.

A GoFundMe page was set up on Saturday page was set up on Saturday by two women who said that they wanted to “show a bit of public support for her family and friends at this very difficult time”, and at the time of publication 375 people had donated to the page, raising a total of €5,590 for Ms Griffin’s family.

Gardaí issued an appeal shortly after the collision, where they asked people not to share images and videos from the incident online after they became aware that footage from the incident was being circulated.

A garda spokesperson told The Echo on Monday afternoon: “All aspects of this incident are the subject of a Garda investigation to ascertain the sequence of events.”
