The next weekend, it will be staged at Familibase, Blackditch Road, from April 28 to 30.

The play forms part of the Ballyfermot 70th birthday celebrations, and the show starts at 8pm each night.

Billy Mangan, from Basement Productions, said the Irish classic, is a “coming of age tale’, set in the Dublin tenements.

“It is the story of a young lad growing up in a working-class area,” said Billy.

“We are a non-profit group who have been trying to bring theatre to Ballyfermot for 20 years, performing in venues and pubs. We were a big part of the Passion Project (in 2016).

“For the 70th celebrations, we have been working with Brokentalkers (theatre company).”

All tickets are €7 and can be bought at Orchard Community Centre, Ballyfermot Library, or by ringing 087 279 6993.

Patrons are advised the performance is not suitable for children.
